Finally got outta town. 26 hours in Maine and New Hampshire: Sunday into Monday (MLK day holiday).
First stop: candy store in Ogunquit. Then onto the place we stayed-- condo place in Ogunquit, which I would recommend and go back to. Perfect for what we wanted-- not to pricey, yet had indoor pool (goggles recommended). Also had a sauna. The room was a 1 BR condo: 1 bath, kitchenette, LR with pullout bed, DVD, fake fireplace (press button to turn on fire-like light!) and tub/jaccuzzi.
Dinner: Kennebunkport Brewing Company / Federal Jack's. Decent gub (bluefish with pepper relish), decent beer (Irish Stout). Mighty quiet town in the winter! Nice.
After dinner: pool, sauna
Breakfast: Awoke to 6-8in fresh snow. Maine Diner in Wells for a lobster omelet. Decent blueberry pancakes. Bad bagel. but before our breakfast....
JASPER's first non-milk meal: onto the rice cereal! J-man took to it right away, and it was soooo cute and funny to have Garson feed him. Good times, good times!
After Maine Diner, driving tour of Kennebunkport coast. Really beautiful with the still-falling fresh snow. Was surprised to see at least 14 SURFERS. I can see why: great breakers. Eventually looped back to 95 and shot down to Portsmouth for another great driving loop out past Shaw's hill. Amazing number of well preserved small, colorful Colonial homes. Both kids slept lots.
Late lunch: Friendly Toast, downtown Portsmouth. Home by 5pm. Shovelled heavy troddon snow from N.Beacon side (oy!). Chillin' eve- watch a children-targeted documentary on MLK, Jr.
