Berkshire getaway!

Dad was super nice and took Garson and Jasper this weekend!
So, from about 11am Saturday to 7pm Sunday, Jen and I got to explore the Berkshires. Perfect weather, great time!

Quick outline, Saturday:
* Drove pike to exit 3, took back roads to Great Barrington.
* Great cheese/sandwich shop: Rubiner's Cheesemongers
* Explore Bash Bish Falls in Mt. Washington State Park
* Drove into NY (Cokpake Falls) and north to the inn where we stayed: Inn at Green River Owned and managed by Deborah. Very nice-- would stay again!
* Dinner at The Old Mill- fancy, good food. Terry the host is a host! A Capella busting out from another table.

Sunday:
* Slept in!!
* Big, yummy breakfast-- poached apple, scones, pear malted pancake, eggs... all local/fresh.
* Back to Bash Bish via N. Egermont cut off- take a right at the PO.
* Hiked 4 hrs; south from NY parking for Bash Bish, up 900+ ft in 1.2 miles then continue on white blazes trail along ridge 'til rounded peak of Alander Mountain (2,239 feet)- about 1,100 vertical increase from parking lot. Lunch on peak, cruised down! Loved hiking with Jen!
* Drove through Mt. Washington park again, this time east-bound.
* Quick stop @ Great Barrington food coop on Bridge St, then drive back to Framingham
* dinner with Mom, Dad, Garson, Jasper, then home by 8:45.

Feew! What a nice time!
