In the Head of The Charles!

I just learned this morning from my (new) coach that I've got a seat
in the Head of the Charles! Yes, rowed it before, but still an honor
and an exciting race.

The race is at 1:24pm on next Saturday, Oct 17.

Last year I was in the Senior Masters 8+ (the + doesn't mean "wicked
old" it means we have a coxswain). This year the race is the Club 8+.
A highly-competitive race full of colleges, club boats and more.
About 45 boats including Lehigh, Harvard,
Northeastern,Yale, and national team boats such as Frankfurter
Rudergesellschaft Germania. My boat (Community Rowing Comp Men) will
be bow #21 I think, right in the middle of the pack. And the coach
just had us re-rig the boat to move the riggers such that the stroke
is now on the starboard side instead of port, which puts me in the bow
seat (back of the bus). I think I better wear a helmet.

Who's in the Club 8+ race:

When are the races: http://hocr.org/competitors/ScheduleDraw09.asp

Rock and roll! (OK, maybe skip the roll).

P.S. Did I mention that Jen and Garson have (separate) other plans
next Saturday and are blowing me off?

P.P.S. Rowing also in the New Hampshire State Champ regatta tomorrow in Suncook, NH. Should be a good time!
